Counselor Deanna Troi - St:TNG by FenigDurak Counselor Deanna Troi - St:TNG by FenigDurak
I've been itching to do this costume for many years now, and I finally had an opportunity. Brent Spiner (Lt Cmmd Data from TNG) was at Star Fest this year, and since I would make a TERRIBLE Data, I went with Troi.

This is the asymmetrical green/teal dress from seasons 4 and 5. It's made from a cotton interlock (comfy!), the shoes were covered with the same material to match and the tights were dyed to match. The headband was wrapped in the same material and detailed with crystal beads and sequins. The hair is a 3/4 wig with additional extensions added for volume.

I made a purse to match, because, well, where was I supposed to put a pocket?!

I only have 1 minor alteration to make before it's perfect.

I love your Counselor Troi cosplay!!! BTW how were you able to do her hair style?

It's a "long and tedious" process of putting on a 3/4 wig. :D

I saw pictures of you from the Miss Star Trek Universe contest- absolutely fabulous! I was Troi, too, on Saturday- I didn't realize how rare she was as a cosplay. Again, very pretty!

I think a friend of yours cornered me on Sunday to talk about your costume. It was nice to hear of another Troi, though he could have gone about it another way.

Any pictures from Saturday?

Don't fret- he thought you were lovely. And there's a few pics on his photobucket page. I felt like making a Charles Xavier pose: [link]

Fun pose! The Xavier thin kinda works! And your wig is fabulous! Very soft curls. That was always the toughest part for me, the hair. Maybe next year we can meet up and do a "Troi-Off". I'm contemplating tossing together a Lwaxanna outfit, just because she's so much more free of a character.

I'd love that! Think of the bantering! I couldn't find a Riker in time either- there was a very attractive one, but I wasn't wearing my outfit. C'est la vie. And actually, the wig was the main reason I decided to do it in the first place- it was left over from when I was Blind Mag (from Repo! the Genetic Opera) for Halloween, and I figured, "Oh, what the hey." Next time, I'll have better shoes, and possibly black contacts.

I'm making this dress for an event in April. How did you make the collar trim?

It's made of the same fabric as the rest of the dress, cut to match the neckline adding in seam allowances and then top stitched in rows after being attached.
